In 1995, the RUC prevented Orangemen from parading along the predominantly nationalist Garvaghy Road.

This resulted in a stand-off between police and Orangemen at Drumcree, and widespread rioting. The Garvaghy Road dispute provoked protests and heightened communal tensions every July between 1995 and 2000.

Issued by the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland in direct response to another poster calling for the banning of Orange marches, this poster demands ‘Accommodation not Segregation’ and ‘Civil and Religious Liberties for ALL.’
