The Royal Ulster Academy has organised a series of events for schools as part of their 143rd Annual Exhibition of Art at the Ulster Museum

We're delighted to welcome the Royal Ulster Academy back to Ulster Museum for the 143rd Annual Exhibition of Art. The Academy has organised a series of special events for schools as follows; 

Please note, all school visits must also be booked with the Ulster Museum for lunch space and access. Fill in the Ulster Museum booking form here to book your place.

TEACHERS’ PREVIEW

A Teacher’s Preview event will be held on Saturday 19th October at 12.00 noon. The tour will be led by Margaret Bowen.

‘MEET THE ARTIST’ KEY STAGE 3, 4 OR A LEVEL - SCHOOLS

TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS 10.15AM – 12.00PM

‘Meet the Artist’ starts with a guided tour, focusing on works in the same medium or techniques used by the artist.  This is followed by a demonstration and an informal discussion with the artists about his/her work.

‘SOURCES & INSPIRATIONS’ FOR SCHOOLS AND THE PUBLIC

WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS 11.00AM – 12.15PM 

(PUBLIC – MUST BOOK AT THE ULSTER MUSEUM RECEPTION DESK

‘Sources & Inspirations’ gives AS and A2 pupils the opportunity to hear a professional artist talk about the origin and development of their ideas, view original studies of the artists’ work, and ask questions.  Students are encouraged to share their own thoughts during the session.

SELF GUIDED TOURS FOR SCHOOLS

School groups of any age, led by their own teachers, can come along and enjoy the exhibition during Ulster Museum opening hours. It is useful for Academy staff to know when schools hope to arrive. Please email [email protected] with a proposed date and time.

 

GUIDED TOURS AND WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS

Primary schools and Post Primary schools can book a guided tour. Tailored tours for Special schools are also available.
