Dinosaurs & More
Book NowYour class will discover the diversity of prehistoric life, learn how fossils are formed, and use their observational skills to compare and contrast fossils against specimens from animals alive today in this exciting interactive session. Starting in the galleries with our Triceratops skeleton, we then move up to Discover Nature where children will have a chance to test their dinosaur knowledge, and see how fossilisation happens. Working in small groups and using genuine specimens from the museum’s collection, the pupils will share observations and ideas, working out where and how prehistoric animals would have lived, and comparing them to related animals alive today. Finally, the class will head out into the galleries to learn more about the enigmatic Megaloceros, also known as the Giant Irish Deer.
