Belfast 'OUTing The Past' returns to the museum with a line-up of six speakers, each delivering a talk on different aspects of LGBTQIA+ history and heritage and how we explore these often hidden or unheard stories.
Taking place in the museum Lecture Theatre, presentations will include:
- Male Homosexuality and Emigration in Ireland, 1891-1922 by Michael Lawrence
- Queer Britain: Amplifying LGBTQ+ Voices by Katherine Dick
- The Enemy Across the Barricades: Gay Men’s Experience of the Troubles by Dr Anthony Donnelly-Drummond
- The Importance of Digital Archives by Joe Walsh
- A Forgotten Belfast Scandal: Class, Politics and Policing Homosex in the 1950s by Dr Charlie Lynch
- ‘It all started one January’ by the Queerspace Collective
