Meet the Vikings
Book NowWho were the Vikings and what evidence do we have about these renowned people’s lives in Ireland?
Through a series of hands-on activities, your class will investigate who the Vikings were and their impact on Ireland. Pupils will have the opportunity to try on replica clothing and jewellery and will experiment with armour and weapons to further understand the technology. They will investigate different resources and objects used and traded by the Vikings in teams to find out what connects them to Ireland and the wider world.
After the workshop, your class can explore the Saints and Scholars gallery at their own pace to identify the objects discussed as they appear now after one thousand years of being buried underground or lost in our rivers.
